Cellar Manager / Assistant Winemaker / Adores O’Shea
Dan embarked on his winemaking career within the McWilliam’s Wines Group, where he undertook a multitude of tasks from waxing underground concrete tanks to fortifying ferments for Tawny wines. He has also worked vintages at the Charles Sturt University Winery and in the cool climate region of New South Wales. It was during a trip to Europe in the summer of 2015, that Dan received a surprise phone call from Chief Winemaker, Adrian Sparks, who asked “Do you want a job?”.
Initially joining as a cellar hand, Dan quickly impressed and has since climbed up the ranks to become Winery Cellar Manager and Assistant Winemaker where he plays a big hand in every aspect of the winemaking process. You will most likely see Dan making a racket when you tour the winery!
When asked what he loves about working at Mount Pleasant he replied with “Where do I start? The people, the vineyards, the history, the mild winters, the wine? It’s all great!”
