Old Paddock

A Tale of Two Vineyards

‘Originally planted using cuttings from Old Hill, the distinction in character shown in Shiraz from one side of the property to the other, is remarkable.

The Story

1921

Maurice O’Shea extends the land holding of the Old Hill vineyard with two adjoining parcels of land. The deep red volcanic loams of the Old Paddock have allowed the vines to penetrate and bury their roots deep into the underlying bedrock, providing them with nourishment, resilience and protection.
